The question is always the same...
How can we get more performance from a smaller package?
A flame arrestor works as a device to cool a gas or vapor until it reaches a temperature below its flash point, thus extinguishing any flame which tries to pass through it. The Lisk design is unique in that it features thin metal ribbons, or elements, wound on a hub and placed in a housing which incorporates the unique features of a customer's interface. While the metal windings look nearly solid, they actually offer very little resistance to flow with the smallest pressure drop in the industry, yet contain a massive heat diffusing surface area.
The Result: The smallest package size with the lowest pressure drop
and the highest flow.
The experience and knowledge we at Lisk have gained over the years is channeled into every one of our products, and the flame arrestors are no exception. If you have an application, chances are we've seen it before and can be a value added partner to your design process.
Aerospace - To put a product into the air or outer space, weight is always a concern. A GW Lisk flame arrestor has the smallest flow area reductions resulting in a smaller package for equivalent flows over the competition's products.
Fuel Bladders / Fuel Cells- If the fuel doesn't combust, it didn't do its job! The key is to keep the combustion in its intended area. We have a very high level of expertise in fuel flame arrestor applications.
Mining / Refinery / Oil Field- In this day and age energy is perhaps the hottest commodity that can be pursued. The hazardous locations in which this energy is found and processed can be harsh. Work on these applications is routine for Lisk engineers.
