Lisk solenoids have been engineered for, qualified to, and deployed within the demanding environments of earth orbital missions. Environmental considerations of hard vacuum, ultra high and cryogenic temperatures, radiation resistance, and special fuel and media compatibility are common to our engineers.

AVIATION

Our aircraft quality solenoids are being used on a wide variety of military and commercial aircraft. Typical applications include engine fuel controls, flight surface actuators, nose and main landing gear, turbine bleed air, and ECS systems. Applications such as these dictate design, construction, and material which must survive in a multitude of extreme environmental conditions.

GROUND ORDINANCE

Ground Ordnance solenoid applications are among the most stringent. The destructive shock and vibration plus dirt and moisture contamination associated with turret and gun platform applications, the flight stress and ballistic shock imposed on cannon launch missile actuator systems, and the high pressure hydraulics of today's technologies demand the utmost in rugged reliability. Lisk consistently meets these demands.

NAVAL EXPERIENCE

Lisk's experience in naval applications has been developed over a 30 year period of continuous activity on shipboard and sub surface vehicles. This work has exposed us to a wide variety of system applications covering hydraulic and nuclear valves, missile launch mechanisms, ballast release, torpedo speed controls, and sea water immersion. Beyond the obvious moisture, corrosion, and in some cases, extreme external pressure environments, our Engineers have met the added challenge of the Navy's submarine high shock specification.
